Al Hastings

CEO/Founder

His first start-up company was acquired by a Kodak spin-off. Prior to the acquisition, he ran the company as CEO for 4 years, during which time the company created and developed an innovative computer display technology. The company was ultimately trading on the NASDAQ with a market capitalization of over $350 million.

He later became CEO of a company that makes robot brains. Under his leadership, the company was listed on the Inc. 500 (fastest growing private companies in the USA). He negotiated the sale of the company to the largest robot manufacturer in the USA. The company is now owned by a Fortune 1000 defense contractor.

Former design and project engineer for Motorola.

Served on the NASA Space Grant Board for Nevada and UNLV Mechanical Engineering Industry Advisory Board.

His aerospace company, Hastings’ Chariots, did engineering and manufacturing in support of NASA’s Orion Capsule which NASA launched around the Moon in 2022. He also did engineering and manufacturing support on the avionics for Blue Origin’s first rocket to achieve orbital flight, New Glenn, in 2025.


Strategic Advisor

A retired Air Force 2-star general, combat veteran, and F-16 pilot. Former National Guard Director for Strategy, Policy, Plans, and International Affairs, advising a Joint Chiefs of Staff member. He has held various operational command and director positions across the National Guard and active-duty military commands. Major General McGregor is an expert in defense strategy, planning, and battlefield management, and is highly regarded for his expertise in military tactics, operations, and strategy. He has published in several defense publications and holds a B. A. degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota and a master's degree in Diplomacy and International Conflict Resolution from Norwich University.

Top civilian at US Navy base China Lake, California (Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division , NAWCWD), before retiring. That Navy base is World renowned for developing and testing aerospace weapons. Starting his career at that Navy base as a mechanical engineer, his expertise in aerospace weapons engineering and project management propelled him to the top.

Currently, he is founder and CEO of the defense contractor startup company, Small Missile Company.

He earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Seattle University in 1972 and a master's degree from the University of Southern California, as well as another from MIT, as an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow.

He has managerial experience, spearheading projects for antisubmarine missiles and serving in key roles, including the Weapons Systems Cost Analysis Division. Appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 1998, he led various departments within NAVAIR before returning to NAWCWD. His accolades include the Naval Meritorious Civilian Service Award and a Presidential Rank Award. O'Neil is a registered Professional Mechanical Engineer in California.
